#GRSYNC WINDOWS COMPATIBILITY KEYGEN#

This makes my 2 terrabyte NAS totally useless to me! Because since it is not able to run GRSync itself it cannot FETCH files to store on itself. GRSync can only Fetch and store files, it cannot PUT files anywhere else! So obviously my original GRSync problem was never solved! So, to solve this problem, GRSync running on the computer WITH the external hard drive "FETCHES" the data from each of the other computers and stores it on the external drive connected to itself.Īn off-site computer with another external hard drive (named Mirror of File Server), "FETCHES" the data from the on-site external hard drive and stores it. If I recall, we could NOT "PUT" files onto the external hard drive from the source computer. We have 8 computers that are mirrored to their respective folders on an external hard drive (named File Server) on a computer dedicated to that service. My ONLY clue that may be helpful here is: Rsync: failed to set times on "/blah/blah/blah/" Operation Not Supported (95). The first time I ran GRSync with Windows Compatibility turned on (it's usual setting) All of the Files received the error: Rsync: mkstemp "/home/gary/.gvfs/familylibrary on storaMirrorTwoOfFileServer/BUSINESS/Permanent/AccountingData/(filenameshere)" failed: Operation not supported (95) The Log File shows the following error roughly 150 thousand times:

Tried it a second time with Windows Compatibility turned off. Discovered all Folders were there, but ZERO FILES. I used GRSync with the above settings to copy the external hard drive over to it. We have a 2 terrabyte NAS device on the LAN now! Also, the main external hard drive is mirrored to an offsite external hard drive using GRSync with the above settings with ZERO ERRORS. The above settings WORK perfectly to copy files from a computer to an external hard drive on the same computer, or on a remote computer in a different building. In the bottom section: Delete on Destination, Verbose, Show Transfer Progress & I've tried with and without Windows Compatibility. Here are my settings (that have worked for years now)!Īll BASIC settings are selected in the top section. I did change one setting After I Discovered ZERO FILES at Destination, reran GRSync and found the same problem still exists, NO FILES at Destination, only the Empty Folders are copied over there. ALL FOLDERS ARE EMPTY!!!!! GRSync is producing THOUSANDS of pages of errors.ĪLL of the Setting were Identical to the previously Working settings. UNTIL NOW THAT IS!īackups have all their folders but NO FILES, they are ALL MISSING. I've been using GRSync for quite some time now without a single problem.
